Maalik Movie: Reflection Of Pesudo-Democratic Culture

Maalik – is directed by Ashir Azeem. When a project associated with Ashir name, you know that there would be scenes based on reality and event based motions on screen. He has also written the most eminent drama serial, Dhuwan, aired on PTV in 1994, based on fight against terrorism and drug dealers.

Irony seen, when movie first released in Karachi, soon it become banned by the Govt. the battle fought by the director to release movie and he raised voice for the immediate release. Government pressurized him to cut off some scene from the movie. The case brought to the court, and finally the court dissolved government ban and grant permission to release. Soon after court verdict, Ashir proclaimed to release it on Eid-Ul-Adha. This exhibited how our champion of pseudo-democratic players works to mum the voices that raises versus them. The movie itself manifests such culture of powerful players who play with the commons of Pakistan. And we spotted such behavior of Pseudo-democrats while banning the movie.

Guiding  into reality Ashir, unveiled how our opinions that is votes manipulated during elections and when they took charge how they ditch us and how they enjoy their ultimate power. Such scenes would boils your blood.

On the other side, it exhibit a professional army of Pakistan. Their sacrifices for the mother land. The most goosebump scene in the movie for me was when an army officer wife was expected a child and her man was on duty, when he comeback to home he sees only his child not his wife. The emotions and feelings of the army officers and their professionalism has been highly displayed in a most sensible way. My favorite dialogue in this scene is  “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota” – father says his son after knowing about his wife demise. Another dialogue which would left you numb. “Mera Baby Boy Hoga Aur Main Uska Naam “Azhar”Rakhungi”.  It’d shed your eyes.

Maalik, all motions on screen and dialogues are exclusively based on reality. You’d find every dialogues and scenes near to reality as it happening in reality and we Pakistani has a greater experience of these events in our lives. Following are the few dialogues that I liked the most:

“Main Pakistan Ka Shehri, Pakistan Ka Maalik Hon, Ye Zameen Ye Log Meray Hain”.
“SSG Hain Hum Sir, We Are The Best In The World”.
“Maalik Mulazim Ko Dhamki Nahi, Notice Deta Hain”.
“Ye Mulk Tumhare Beghair Bhi Sub Kuch Hain, Tum Is Mulk K Beghair Kuch Bhi    Nahi”.
“Aur Apni Taqat Pa Ghamand Na Karo, Bulki Is Taqat Ko Mulk Ki Behtari K Liye    Istemal Karo”.
“Iss Mulk Main Nahi Rehna Mujhe, This is a lawless jungle”.
“Paisa Paisa Paisa, Ab Khareed K Dey Mera Beta”.

Movie has so many trims which has been done on terms of government , that altered some messages which originally not reached to the audience but the message has been conveyed. Trims made the movie so puzzled and you’d see many mixed scenes, which would makes you unclear about many events that goes side by side. The events starts at the beginning do not correlate with the ending.

In my view, movie is one of the finest depiction about cruelty in society, politics and police culture. The movie sheds light on different aspects of events that is  soviet war in Afghanistan, jihadism, feudalism, migration of families from war zone areas to urban cities, sacrifices of army men personal lives for the mother land and the role of politicians in society. The basic theme of the movie, is to own you country, love your country, loyalty, honor, courage, dignity, passion, patriotism, idealism and family value.

It translated our socio-political behavior into motions. Such movies are of great need of the time, to educated the people and expose the evil in our pure-land. Succession of this kind of efforts would definitely clarify us how to live, who to elect, how to look after your land and most of all why to own your country.
